Camps & Classes
Youth Programs & Camps
Two by Two
(two-year-old and an adult)
These programs are designed with the two
year old child in mind. The child MUST have reached the age of two
by the date of the class. These playful, one-hour classes include
circle time, story time and a special animal guest before heading
out on a guided walking tour of part of the Zoo. The cost for extra
adults attending will be $10 each.
Cost per session (one adult & one child):
Regular $25; Members: $20
Do the Locomotion
Snakes slither, birds fly, and cats leap.
Children and a parent/grandparent will learn how animals move and
what body parts help that animal move from one place to another.

Lovely Lizards
What does a Bearded dragon eat? How does
it feel to touch its scales? Children will discover fascinating
facts about lizards.

Two by Three

These programs are designed specifically to
meet the developmental needs of the three year old child. The child
MUST have reached the age of three by the date of the class. This
one-hour class includes circle time, story time and a special animal
guest before heading out on a guided walking tour of a part of the
Zoo.
Cost per session: Regular: $25; Members: $20, one
adult and one child
In Your Own Backyard
Children will learn about animals that
might visit their backyards. Squirrels, rabbits and crickets are
just a few of the animals that will be explored in this class.

Opposites
Children will experience big and little
creatures found at the Zoo. Is an elephant the largest animal? Which
is the largest animal found at the Zoo? We will see some very large
animals and then some that are small. You will meet a small mouse!

ZOOper Kids
This child-only program for four and five
year old children includes a guided Zoo walk, a hands-on activity,
closely supervised contact with education program animals and lots
of information about animals to satisfy the curiosity of young
minds.
Cost per session: Regular: $20; Members: $15
Rainforest Expedition
Jaguars, woolly monkeys and anacondas are
a few animals you might find in the tropical rainforest. Children
will explore the tropical rainforest ecosystem and discover many of
the animals that make the tropical rainforest their home.

Who Hops?
Can you jump as far as a kangaroo? Can
you hop like a rabbit? Children will investigate the many different
types of animals that hop and compare their own skill at hopping.
Children will meet several education animals.

FAMILY CLASSES
Bring the family to our family class and
learn together about the world we live in. This program is designed
for families with children 4 years old and up. Meet your instructor
at the Front Gate and learn with us!
Cost per person: Regular $15; Members $10

We are Family
How are naked-mole rats organized? Have
you ever run into a mob of meerkats? Do gorillas live in family
groups? Bring your family to the Louisville Zoo to learn more about
animal families. Meet a few of the education program animals up
close and find out more about what is going on at your Zoo.
September 18, 9–10:30 a.m.
Big Cats!
Where do tigers live? Why does a snow
leopard have such a long tail? Bring your family to the Louisville
Zoo to learn more about the big cats. Visit the Alice S. Etscorn
Tiger Tundra exhibit and watch the training of the world’s largest
cat, the Amur tiger.

SPECIAL CLASSES
Los Animalitos
The Louisville Zoo and Los Monitos Language
Center are offering a special opportunity for parents and their 4 –5
year olds. This is part of Los Monitos Language Center’s “Parents &
Me” series where children will learn Spanish and/or French
vocabulary and expressions in the context of different animal
families. They will learn the respective verbs for “To Be”,
letters, numbers, nouns for the animals and their body parts and
adjectives that describe colors, sizes and noises that the animals
make. Zoo animals will be an integral part of the class! To

Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Individuals who wish to cancel their registration in any class must
notify the Education Department, in writing, no less than one week
prior to the actual date of the class. We will refund 80% of the
class fee upon receipt of a written or email (danita.robbins@louisvilleky.gov) cancellation.
There will be no refunds for cancellations made less than one week
prior to class date.
- The
Education Department reserves the right to cancel classes with
insufficient registration.
- There
will be a $10 service charge for any changes in the original
registration.
- Pre-registration is required for all classes.

Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and camps
fill quickly. Pre-registration is required for all classes.

eTicket Store are available unless otherwise
noted. Only credit card payments accepted. Confirmations are automatically
emailed with your ticket.

received with the registration form at least two weeks to the preferred session.
Confirmations will be mailed to you. Please make your check payable to the
Louisville Zoo.
